This introductory course offers you an overview of the international real estate business environment, including capital flow, currencies, government regulations and cultures. Topics such as international brokerage, networking, marketing, and selling will also be discussed.
You must take this course before taking any other CIPS courses. Upon completion of this course, you will receive elective credit towards the ABR and CRS designation (applies to U.S. members only).

The Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) Designation is the only international credential recognized by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). It trains real estate agents to handle cross-border transactions, currency fluctuations, tax issues, and cross-cultural negotiations for global clients.
To earn and maintain this designation, professionals must meet specific milestones:

Earn 1 unit towards NJ REALTORS ® Circle of Excellence Sales Award by completing all requirements for obtaining a NAR Designation / NAR Certification, including course work and paying application fees, etc. Requirements must be completed by November 13, 2026, no exceptions.
